Therapy OptionsThe type of therapy recommended is determined by the results of the sleep test and corresponding doctor interpretation. We do not prescribe therapy options.
CPAP:
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure device. Patient is breathing with and against a constant ambient pressure. Mask is used. BiPAP: Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure. Patient is breathing in with one pressure and out with another. Mask is used. ASV: Adaptive Servo Ventilator. Device constantly analyzes patient's breathing and adjusts the pressure accordingly. Mask is used. Oral Appliance: Orthodontic-like device used to gently pull forward the lower jaw. No mask. Surgery: Removes obstructions by cutting away tissue through a surgical procedure. | Mask OptionsThe type of mask a patient uses for therapy is based on a combination of facial structure, way of breathing and personal preference. Masks fall into three categories:
Nasal Pillows
Least intrusive, cannula style that fits directly into the nostrils.
Standard Nasal
The most common interface, fits directly over the nose.
Full Face
This mask fits over the nose and mouth. Perfect for patients that tend to breathe through their mouth throughout the night.
| Care and CleaningIt is important to regularly clean and replace your mask, filters, tubing and water chamber. Clean and fresh equipment will help enable better sleep for the patient.
